Our Village, Our Pride
The goal of Chintaluru is to become the No. 1 sustainable and self-reliant village in India.
Chintaluru
Chintaluru is a village in Alamuru Mandal, East Godavari District, in the state of Andhra Pradesh. It sits in the heart of the Godavari delta – one of the most fertile and historically rich landscapes in all of India.
Our village name comes from the Telugu word Chinta – meaning tamarind. For generations, grand tamarind trees lined the lanes of Chintaluru, giving shade to elders who sat and talked, children who played, and travellers who rested. The tamarind tree is not just our name – it is our nature. Giving, sheltering, rooted.
🌿 A land of hills, heritage, and hope.

Sree Nookambika Devi Temple
The temple’s architecture reflects the classical Kalingan-Dravidian style of the Godavari region – ornamental pillars, a rising gopuram, stone carvings that speak of artisans who poured devotion into every chisel strike. The temple is not just a place of worship. It is a living heritage site, a community hall, a school of values, and the oldest institution in Chintaluru.
Village President
Karuna Margani Yeshu - Sarpanch, Chintaluru Gram Panchayat
She leads the Gram Panchayat and works with the Alamuru Mandal administration and the state government to bring development, welfare, and dignity to every home in Chintaluru. No problem is too small for her attention. No family is too far from her concern.
Chintaluru is my home. Every problem in this village is my problem. Every child who goes to school, every woman who stands on her own feet, every clean street in our village — that is my reward. I will work every day to make Chintaluru something our children are proud of.
”Development Work She Has Driven
She did not come to power to sit in an office. She came to serve. And that is exactly what she does walking the village, listening to residents, solving the problems that the smallest household faces every single day.
Street Lighting
LED and solar street lights now illuminate the lanes of Chintaluru after dark, making the village safer for women, children, and the elderly.
Women’s Empowerment
She has actively supported women’s Self-Help Groups in Chintaluru, helping women access government schemes, microfinance, and skill training to build their own income and confidence.
Children & Education
She works closely with the local school and Anganwadi centre to improve attendance, nutritious mid-day meals, and early childhood care for Chintaluru’s children.
Roads
Internal village roads have been repaired and relaid, making it easier for farmers to carry their produce, children to reach school, and families to move safely during monsoon.
Drinking Water
Under the Jal Jeevan Mission, she has worked to bring piped clean drinking water to households across Chintaluru so no woman has to walk far to fill a pot, and no child drinks unsafe water.
Sanitation
Through the Swachh Bharat Mission, Chintaluru has added household toilets and improved solid waste management. The streets are cleaner. The village is healthier.
A Village Built on Strength and Unity
From cultural heritage to community development, our people are shaping a brighter future together.
